New England Security Day 2024

March 2024

After a hiatus the New England Security Day (NESD) made a come back.  This event is designed to bring together security researchers throughout New England (and adjacent areas). This all-day event brought together security researchers. Hosted by the Connecticut Advanced Computing Center and organized by School of Computing Associate Professor Benjamin Fuller, seminars included machine learning security, network security, applied cryptography, and system security. Attendees also learned the latest in hashtagcybersecurity via poster sessions and presentations.
CyberSEED 2024

We had another great CyberSEED event this past Saturday March 23, 2024 with 96 teams with 226 students. We had some intense competition with the top team being the only one to solve all of the challenges. The briefing presentations ended up being a pretty deciding factor in the placement of the top teams and is such a valuable component of the experience for the students

Rise of the Machines: Challenges and Opportunities for AI in Industry

Artificial intelligence is experiencing an unprecedented growth, with successes in domains such as autonomous driving, fraud detection, search engines, smart manufacturing, medicine, marketing, and natural language understanding. Across industrial sectors, AI-based technologies are becoming essential to drive innovation in the next generation of supply chains and products.

This workshop will provide a whirlwind tour of how new technologies such as large language models (powering, e.g., ChatGPT) work, how they will change the landscape of industry, and how to approach the adoption of disruptive technologies. With speakers from industry and academia, this workshop should be informative, thrilling, and brimming with insights related to AI’s rise within industry.

CyberSEED 2023 was another fantastic edition with 333 registrations and 118 teams who participated in the event. Congratulations to the top 10 prizing winning teams!

CyberSEED 2022

CyberSEED 2022 boasted 227 registrations and 84 teams who participated in the event. The competition was fierce with an upset in the last 30 minutes leading to a University of Central Florida first place finish.

CyberSEED 2021 was the first virtual installment of CyberSEED. The competition touched on a variety of cybersecurity challenges including a set of flags focusing on reverse engineering, web application security, network traffic analysis, and cryptography.
